About The Course

Ready to inspire your child’s musical journey with the flute? Welcome to Gandharva’s Flute Foundation Course, designed to nurture budding musicians and bring their musical dreams to life!

In this program, your child will learn the fundamentals of playing the flute, delve into Sargam, gain a foundational understanding of Taal and Alankar, explore the beauty of Ragas, and dive deeper into the intricacies of Raga Durga and Raga Jhaptaal.

Prerequisites

  • Interest in music and learning the instrument + willingness to practice regularly
  • Student must have their own Flute, so that they can practice and hone their skills

Learning Outcomes You Can Expect

  • Develop a solid foundation in flute playing, including proper hand positioning, breath control, and embouchure techniques.
  • Learn to play basic Sargam (Indian solfege) on the flute.
  • Understand the fundamentals of Taal (rhythm) and Alankar (ornamentation) and apply them to flute playing.
  • Develop knowledge of different Ragas (melodic frameworks) and apply them to flute playing.
  • Learn to play Raga Durga and Raga Jhaptaal on the flute, demonstrating an understanding of the unique characteristics and nuances of each Raga.
  • Develop proficiency in playing with expression and emotion, and applying dynamics and articulations to enhance the musicality of flute playing.
